Winery Logistics Manager

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to lead and coordinate all aspects of wine fulfillment, shipping, inventory logistics, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring smooth and cost-effective movement of our wines from production to customers—across DTC, wholesale, and export channels. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in wine or beverage logistics and a strong understanding of industry-specific compliance and shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Order Fulfillment & Shipment Coordination
• Oversee daily shipping operations for DTC (Direct-to-Consumer), wholesale, and distributor orders
• Ensure all orders are packed accurately, labeled properly, and shipped on time
• Manage logistics for bulk wine, case goods, and sample shipments
• Coordinate LTL, UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers; troubleshoot delays or damages
• Implement and maintain shipping schedules, cost controls, and transit tracking systems
Inventory & Warehouse Interface
• Work closely with Warehouse Manager to ensure real-time inventory accuracy and tracking
• Coordinate inventory movements between bonded, production, and storage locations
• Maintain records of case goods and bulk wine transfers in compliance with TTB/ABC regulations
• Reconcile monthly inventory reports and support annual physical inventory counts
Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure shipping and labeling practices comply with state and federal regulations (TTB, ABC, FedEx alcohol policies, etc.)
• Manage documentation for domestic and international shipping, including BOLs, customs declarations, and export permits
• Stay updated on compliance rules by state and channel (especially for alcohol shipments)
Cross-Department Coordination
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Finance teams to align fulfillment with customer and distributor expectations
• Coordinate with Marketing for club shipments, seasonal promotions, and custom packaging
• Provide delivery timelines and tracking to Sales and Customer Service teams
Process Improvement & Vendor Management
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce shipping costs and improve fulfillment speed
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with shipping carriers, third-party warehouses, and freight brokers
• Implement systems (ERP, WMS, TMS) or optimize existing workflows for efficiency and visibility

Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or shipping (wine or beverage industry strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of alcohol shipping regulations (ABC, TTB, FedEx/UPS alcohol shipping rules)
• Experience with logistics platforms and ERP systems (e.g., Vintrace, ShipCompliant, Fishbowl, Netsuite)
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and shipment tracking tools
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and internal team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a winery, beverage production, or alcohol distribution environment
• Familiarity with 3PL providers, bonded warehouses, and export logistics
• Forklift certified or experience working with warehouse environments
• Knowledge of wine club logistics or DTC e-commerce fulfillment a plus

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered

Working Conditions:
• Hybrid work environment with physical presence required during fulfillment weeks
• May require occasional evening or weekend work during wine club or high-volume shipping periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during packaging or inventory movement
