Job Summary
The Chief Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of manufactured products within our organization. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, aviation standards, and inspection techniques. The Chief Inspector will oversee inspection activities and ensure adherence to industry standards such as AS9100 and Federal Aviation Regulations.

Duties

• Conduct thorough inspections of components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines to perform detailed measurements.
• Perform root cause analysis on defects and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Review schematics and technical drawings using CAD software such as CATIA and AutoCAD to verify accuracy in manufacturing processes.
• Lead inspections for mechanical, electrical, avionics, and aircraft maintenance projects, ensuring all work meets regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on design improvements based on inspection findings.
• Train and mentor inspection staff on best practices in quality control and inspection techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment during the assembly or repair processes.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all inspection activities.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in manufacturing or aviation environments with a strong understanding of mechanical knowledge.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards and Federal Aviation Regulations is essential.
• Strong skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during inspections or equipment repairs.
• Previous experience in aircraft maintenance maintenance is preferred.
