Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties

In general you will be responsible for building a Cloud Native stack mostly coded in Golang.

  • Paid software development experience a must (unpaid internships do not count)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Golang, and how to build network services using the Go stack and common libraries.
  • Show experience using a database with Golang.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, and experience using MySQL, Postgresql or an equivalent modern backend SQL system. Experience from school is acceptable.
  • Experience using session management technologies and a key value or similar storage system such as Redis a plus but not required.
  • Be prepared to explain how services can be designed to scale horizontally.
  • Improve the team as an active participant in our culture (mentorship, interviewing and new initiatives).
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and a drive to move their career and technical knowledge forward quickly. Be prepared to show how you can learn fast.

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS or higher in Computer Science or related technical field – some Goalng Cloud Native development experience is a must!
  • Good oral and written English language skills. UK and American participants in a video call should be able to communicate with you.
  • Flexibility to work during non-business hours in your country / time zone of residence. Some, but not all work will require overlap with those working general business hours in India and Western Europe.
  • A quiet and dedicated work environment. A place where you can work free of outside noises, and where other people in your residence or building can not be heard.
  • Can hit the ground running – fast learner that can become familiar with what we do and start contributing quickly.
  • A desire and preference for working on a team. Despite remote work you will be working on video calls multiple hours per day.
  • 3+ years of work-related proven full time experience with software engineering or operations
  • 1+ years experience with Golang development for Cloud Native / k8s related projects
  • Experience with either AWS, Azure, GKE (the more the better)
  • Strong Linux and scripting skills to include Bash, Python
