Overview:

This job contributes to REI’s success by serving as Order Fulfillment (OF) Billing Clerk within the Distribution Center (DC). OF departmental operations include invoicing, gift wrapping, inserting marketing materials, hazardous materials (HAZMAT) processing, and overall packaging for the accurate and timely shipment of merchandise directly to sales consumers or retail location for pick-up. Ensures that shipments are accomplished in a way that supports the Company’s business initiatives and objectives. Responsibilities include processing all exception orders as well as packaging for outbound Direct to Consumer orders. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

How you will be successful:  

 

• Receives customer service calls triggering the handling of merchandise by exception including tracking, order changes, cancellations, inspections, and subsequent follow-ups.
• Updates systems and maintains records to reflect exception handling and associated activities; cancels orders, documents general status, adds notes to customer history, emails information to stores; maintains shipping manifest and daily activity sheet.
• Processes and prepares or modifies merchandise for shipping and billing as appropriate; verifies correct consolidation and shipping methodology for rush orders; splits, combines, and wraps cartons; notifies and returns merchandise to Vendor Returns and/or Inventory Control.
• Opens and closes loads for employees, shipping carriers, and Hazards.
• Assists supervisor by providing training for back-up Billing Clerk and REI terminal functions.
• Maintains area cleanliness, organization and supply levels, including ensuring adequate stock, returning baskets to order consolidation, and informing Lead of any system or tool malfunctions. Maintains ongoing relationships and serves as member on various committees to represent departmental and/or overall company interests; communicates company needs and expectations internally or externally; provides review, input and recommendations as appropriate
• Safely handle product and Distribution Center equipment.  
• Work well in a team-based environment.  
• Flexible, with the ability to navigate different departments based on the business need.  
• Easy to navigate directions and feedback to and from others.  
• Attention to detail in all tasks and assignments.  

• Work efficiently and safely by setting practical goals,  establishing priorities, and producing to standard.

Your qualities:   

• Experience with RF handheld equipment.  

• Lift and shift boxes weighing an average of 20 to 30 pounds with a maximum of 65 pounds throughout 8–12-hour shifts.  
• Able to work standing or walking for 8–12-hour shifts.

Base Pay Range: $19.25 - $21.82 per hour
